27 Jul 6 Tips to Make the Most Out of your Day
As entrepreneurs, we’re usually in and out of the office-always on the go. Entrepreneurs typically have networking to do, meetings to attend and are constantly busy figuring out the next best thing for their business. However, if you are entrepreneur who is planning on spending a day in the office, you want to make sure to make the most out of our time because it is very valuable! Although we all know a thing or two about multi-tasking, here are a few extra tips to check out about making the most out of your workday!
1. Communication
As the first tip, communication seems like a very obvious one. However, it’s always important to be reminded of communication because as entrepreneurs, we can get very caught up in our own day and own set of tasks. Be sure to communicate with your team about what you expect of them on a day-to-day basis, when you will be in the office, how they can best reach you and meeting times to check in.
2. Personal Work Time
Spending time in the office is always a great idea, but it’s very easy to get distracted. Whether it’s employees, meetings, emails or office issues, distractions are abundant. Set aside a good chunk of time (2-3 hours) for your personal to-do list. In this time tell your employees you are unavailable, do not schedule meetings, and best utilize it to get things done. This is a great time to schedule in the middle of the day and answer any emails or make important calls. This helps you prevent from feeling unaccomplished at the end of the day.
3. Exercise
Exercise is one of the best ways to start your day! It’s been said over and over again, but it’s so true! Exercise allows you to focus and gets you feeling good even before the work day begins.
4. Create Specific Meeting Times
If you are an entrepreneur who is rarely in the office, it is very important to schedule out specific meeting times with your employees when you actually are. Whether or not they asked for it, meetings with specific departments, teams and individuals can be a great way to stay connected to what’s going on while you’re gone and is also a good way to understand if there are any changes that need to be made. Scheduling specific meetings also helps keep your day on track, so you are not accidentally spending two hours with one team.
5. Make a To-Do List with Times
An old-fashioned trick, but to-do lists are incredibly helpful. Do not just make a list of what needs to get done, but try and prioritize the items in list of importance. Also, write specific time frames next to each task to give yourself a slot of how long each item should take. This will also help keep your day in check and not let you forget anything.
6. Pack a Lunch
Sometimes easier said than done, but try and take the time in the morning to pack a lunch for work. Some of the most wasted time during the work day can come from going out for lunch. Packing a lunch will allow you to continue working and not interrupt your rhythm.
